In Mortal Kombat 1, MMA fighter Cole Young seeks out Earth's greatest champions in order to stand against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe.
Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the follow up to his explosive 2021 cinematic adventure, from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater (“The Exorcist,” “Moon Knight”), based on the videogame created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. The film is produced by Todd Garner, James Wan, Toby Emmerich, E. Bennett Walsh and McQuoid, and executive produced by Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Slater and Lawrence Kasanoff.
The cast of fresh faces for Mortal Kombat 2 includes Martyn Ford (“The Sandman”), Desmond Chiam (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), Ana Thu Nguyen (Suka), and Damon Herriman (House of Wax, The Nightingale), alongside Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Tati Gabrielle as Jade and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
Warner Bros announced that it has signed Ludi Lin to play Liu Kang in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 2 m ovie.
Ludi Lin is known for his roles in Power Rangers (2017), CW’s Kung Fu, Aquaman (2018), Summer Knight (2019), Black Mirror (“Striking Vipers”), Son of the South (2020)
Ludi Lin practices Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wushu, Taekwondo, Jeet Kune Do, Kung Fu, Hapkido, Kali & Olympic-style wrestling.
Mortal Kombat 2 opens in theaters in North America on October 24, 2025 and internationally beginning October 22, 2025.
