by Rainier on July 4, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m. PDT

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is a single player auto-shooter and survivor-like title set in the world of Deep Rock Galactic.

Wield the full arsenal of Deep Rock Galactic, take on hordes of lethal aliens, mine riches, and unlock powerful upgrades. It's one dwarf against all of Planet Hoxxes!

Kill bugs, upgrade your gear, and delve ever deeper into the lethal caves of Hoxxes. Collect and assemble a devastating array of guns, unleash hell upon wave after wave of alien monsters in fast and frenetic combat, and tunnel your way to collect precious riches from deep within the cave walls. Each mission is unique, using procedural cave generation and enemy waves, just as you've come to know from Deep Rock Galactic.

Delve deep, Miner! Once the Drop Pod releases you into the oppressive darkness, you are on your own. Complete the mission objectives set forth by the Company, and make it back to the Drop Pod in time to try your luck at even more deadly and lucrative encounters. Choose your route though a path of harder and harder missions while you grow ever stronger, survive all the way to the very end of your assignment, and finally get extracted alongside your hefty sack of loot.

The universe of Deep Rock Galactic is loved by millions of players, and now you can experience it in a whole new single-player-focused way! Play each mission from a top-down perspective, navigating the caves of Hoxxes as you've never seen them before. Greybeard Deep Rock veterans will recognize much from Deep Rock Galactic, and if you are a recently joined Greenbeard: Welcome! We are thrilled to have you on board. You will like it here. Management demands it.

Developer Funday Games and published Ghost Ship Publishing have just revealed details on the upcoming ‘Gear’ system update that heralds the imminent 1.0 release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor on September 17th.

The Gear system will further expand long-term progression through acquiring items that players will find during their dives that can be equipped, upgraded or dismantled in exchange for additional resources.

Dwarves of all beard lengths will be recovering Gear as they delve into the depths of Hoxxes IV. From basic fieldwork equipment such as the Electromagnetic Enhancer to tuned up tools like the Huuli Hide Vest or the enigmatic Boom Blend, Gear will drop in five tiers (Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary) and offer a range of stat boosts and perks, ranging from bonus experience and crit damage to more coveted benefits such as extra artifact rerolls or extending the waiting time of the drop pod.

Gear will be coming to Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor following multiple other system updates aimed at furthering players’ long-term progression. In June last year, Funday introduced Masteries, long-term milestones that could be achieved through using specific weapons or completing dives in specific Biomes, offering permanent power increases to weapons and class mods that further progress with hazard level completions.

Masteries were later followed up by Mutators and Lethal Operations, both additions meant to challenge players to try out new builds and find ways of completing challenging endgame missions. All of these systems are aimed at rewarding dwarves with currency to purchase permanent upgrades to armor, XP giant and other stats while strengthening the curve at which players get better at the game and take on harder dives.

“Gear is designed to give our players even more options of what to invest or spec into.” says Anders Leicht Rohde, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at Funday Games. “You can flat out go for critical chance, or choose to get as much luck as possible in hopes of finding rare upgrades more often. We wanted to make sure that Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor offers endless replayability while at the same time making sure players are rewarded for every dive they go on.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is coming to PC (Steam) on September 17, 2025.
