A mysterious man known as the Phantom has awakened and hatches a plan to unseal his dark powers. By giving ancient weapons known as the F.A. (Fu-mension Artifacts) to youths with special abilities, he convinces them to battle each other with the promise to grant the wishes of the victors. However, each time the Fu-mension Artifacts are used in battle, they create a rift between parallel worlds, which will inevitably unseal the Phantom’s powers.

Waka, the daughter of the Kumon Family, a clan tasked with protecting the world from the Phantom, and her friend Mikoto, attempt to stop him. However, in an alternate timeline the Phantom manages to escape and kidnaps Waka’s younger sister, Nagi. Waka and Mikoto, along with Itsuki, self-proclaimed “Arbiter of Justice" and Yuzuha, a ninja unpersuaded by the lure of the Phantom, set off to rescue Nagi and stop his nefarious plan.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) is a fully reworked version of the original title launched a decade ago. The new version includes revamped and smoother gameplay thanks to a full rebuild of the game in Unreal Engine 5, local and online co-op, and Versus Modes for up to 8 players from around the world, including cross-platform support.

Alongside the visual and gameplay improvements, Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) also includes new characters, with the inclusion of enemies as playable characters in Arcade Mode. The game has also received a full soundtrack remaster, letting players choose from a brand new soundtrack composed by the all-girl J-rock band, the Phantom Breakers, or the classic version if they prefer.

Rocket Panda Games announces the official release date for the upcoming Kaho Shibuya DLC for Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU), launching on September 4th, 2025 for PC and consoles.

The DLC also includes In-stage Collaboration Camoes with LA local food truck, Okamoto Kitchen and 3D latte art shop from Japan, Latte Pocket.

The Kaho DLC includes: One new playable character Kaho Shibuya, a magical girl with the powers of cuteness and bread, available to use on Co-op and Battlegrounds Mode. Shibuya herself voices the character in both English and Japanese. Four new enemy mob characters to battle through on the new stage. A brand-new stage set in a fictional “LA”, dressed up for anime convention season available on Co-op Mode. New special in-game stage BGM featuring the Phantom Breakers’ new single, WiSH with Shibuya appearing as a guest vocalist. In-stage Collaboration Cameos with LA local food truck, Okamoto Kitchen and 3D latte art shop from Japan, Latte Pocket.

The Phantom Breakers’ new single that will be featured as the stage BGM in the DLC, “WiSH” feat. Kaho Shibuya is currently available on all major music streaming platforms.
