Manage a dysfunctional team of misfit heroes and strategize who to send to emergencies around the city, all while balancing office politics, personal relationships, and your own quest to become a hero.
You play as Robert Robertson, AKA Mecha Man, whose mech-suit is destroyed in a battle against his nemesis, forcing him to take a job at a superhero dispatch center: not as a hero, but a dispatcher. In charge of rehabilitating a group of ex-supervillains, you must manage your roster while navigating office relationships and rebuilding your suit for a shot at revenge.
While the main goal is to strategically send the team on epic missions, players must also navigate messy relationships, office politics, and life-or-death decisions.
Blending narrative, strategy, and humor, Dispatch explores what it means to be a hero, whether you're wearing a cape or behind a desk.
AdHoc Studio announced that Dispatch will launch on October 22 for PC and PlayStation 5, kicking off an eight-episode season.
Two episodes will be available at launch, with two more arriving every Wednesday until the season is complete. A single purchase gives players the entire season, and new episodes unlock automatically each week as they premiere.
Like a TV series that one can play, Dispatch’s weekly format lets the community discuss and debate choices and outcomes together as each new episode drops.
“We think the release format is an underrated part of the player experience,” said Nick Herman, co-founder of AdHoc Studio and Dispatch Creative Director. “Episodic is a format that makes the story easy to slip into, easy to keep up with, and easy to share with friends. We want the launch of Dispatch to be ‘appointment gaming’ but with the weekly cadence of a TV show, as opposed to asking people to wait months between each release.”
Dispatch’s misfits are brought to life by a stunning cast which includes
- Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Westworld, Black Mirror)
- Laura Bailey (The Legend of Vox Machina, The Last of Us II, Marvel's Spider-Man)
