'Bullet Noir' Leaving Steam Early Access, v1.0 Launch Next Week - Trailer

by Rainier on Sept. 3, 2025 @ 4:49 p.m. PDT

Bullet Noir is sa neo-noir top-down twin-stick shooter that immerses players in a gritty, urban cityscape where four protagonists scour the shadowy streets in search for their mentor’s killer.

Bullet Noir features a rich, story-driven experience, inviting players to uncover the motivations and backstories of four distinct protagonists driven by their relentless thirst for vengeance. As the narrative unfolds, players will navigate each character’s personal journey, intertwined with the larger plot.

Each protagonist comes equipped with their unique skills, and mastering these abilities will be essential for overcoming obstacles and outsmarting enemies in creative ways. Slow down time to accurately execute a kill as the Cop, extend your vision as the Priest, or briefly become invulnerable to oncoming bullets as the Lady. Master each character’s unique talents to overcome challenges and outsmart throngs of bloodthirsty foes in creative ways.

Bullet Noirs one-hit-one-kill mechanic offers intense showdowns around every corner, whether you’re charging in guns blazing or opting for a stealthier approach. Slip through the shadows of this rain-slicked burg, or create chaos through its back alleys, hovels and high rises; the choice is yours as you embark upon each protagonist’s interweaving quest for vengeance.

Wolcen Studio announced that Bullet Noir will exit Steam Early Access and launch in full on September 10, 2025.

The 1.0 release features a redesigned UI, upgraded visuals, and the conclusion to the game’s revenge-driven story. Bullet Noir will be priced at $11.99 / £9.99 / €11.79, with a 20% launch discount for the first week of launch to mark the occasion.

To coincide with the launch, Wolcen Studio has released the fourth entry in its developer diary series. In the new devlog, Community Manager Meric Cakici explores the gritty world of Bullet Noir and details the improvements made since Early Access launch. Players previously experienced a narrative spanning four chapters, told through the eyes of four protagonists: the Cop, the Doctor, the Priest and the Lady. Version 1.0 introduces a brand-new Chapter 5, completing their intertwined stories with a total of 35 levels and newly added cinematics that reimagine earlier chapters.

Beyond the campaign, the full release expands the game’s arcade offerings, introducing an enhanced arcade mode and speedrun options for all four characters. Players can also look forward to a suite of technical upgrades, including full controller support, overhauled graphics and cinematics, a refined UI, and localisations in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, with fully customizable controls.

“We’re proud to have Bullet Noir serve as the very first title in our Indie Initiative,” said Bogdan Oprescu, President of Wolcen Studio. “This marks a new chapter for us, and we’re excited to continue championing independent creativity through this program!”
