You are Max, a photography senior who saves her old friend Chloe by discovering she can rewind time. The pair soon find themselves exposed to the darker side of Arcadia Bay as they uncover the disturbing truth behind the sudden disappearance of fellow student Rachel Amber. Meanwhile, Max begins to have premonitions as she struggles to understand the implications of her power. She must quickly learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future.
With a unique hand-drawn art style, Life Is Strange is a compelling, story-driven experience where choice and consequence play a key role in how the narrative unfolds. But there is a twist. At the beginning of the game Max discovers she has a remarkable power… the ability to rewind time. In Life Is Strange the player has the power to affect the game’s narrative and also change the course of history itself.
Amazon MGM Studios has greenlit Life is Strange, based on the video game, straight to series from creator/showrunner Charlie Covell.
Charlie Covell (End of the F***ing World, KAOS) will serve as creator, executive producer, and showrunner.
The series comes from Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and LuckyChap and is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson will executive produce under their Story Kitchen banner.
Life Is Strange will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Based on the video game franchise, the story follows Max, a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe. As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever.
