LMS2 will feature a new U.S.A setting, with brand new location designs for players to play in. From suburban lawns to commercial and municipal locations, the game will feature contracts set in all manner of locations of varying sizes and themes.
Featuring a brand new setting with all new contracts, which will be built with a new grass tech to allow players to get the best cut ever. New mowers and string trimmers will be included, as well as the much requested leaf blowers! But Leaf Blowers wouldn’t be much fun without a lot of leaves to blast! So in LMS2 we plan on having a system where tens of thousands of leaves can be blown around at once.
Skyhook Games are investing a lot of development time to build a new grass system from scratch, that will allow for the Lawns in LMS2 to be more beautifully rendered and offer much more variety in looks and how the player interacts with them. Flowers and weeds will now become a part of the lawn's make up, as well as much more variation in the uncut lawn, which will really highlight your efforts as a player to make an overgrown lawn look perfect.
Career mode gets a total overhaul for all you management fans with an explorable HQ to run your business from, as well as enhanced character customisation.
Skyhook Games is thrilled to announce that Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 is in the early stages of development!
This announcement follows the recent release of a new DLC pack and substantial quality of life update to the original game, which brings Lawn Mowing Simulator players an improved gameplay experience and includes a number of community-requested tweaks.
When planning the sequel the Skyhook Games team spent a long time working through community feedback for Lawn Mowing Simulator, much of which has been taken into account in the design for Lawn Mowing Simulator 2.
This new game is being self-funded by Skyhook Games, something that is a big challenge for any indie studio and is set against the backdrop of significant industry turmoil – but one which will enable the team to retain complete control over the future direction of the game and build the project in collaboration with players – both at initial release, and beyond.
"Taking the opportunity to build on the foundations created in the original game, and look at ways to improve every aspect of them, is something we've wanted to do for some time," said David Harper, managing director at Skyhook Games. "We've always been very grateful for the dedicated community that grew up around Lawnmowing Simulator, and we're looking forward to building the next step with them in mind."
While Skyhook Games is committed to creating Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 independently, the development of the game will include a Kickstarter campaign which is set to launch in the coming months. This is designed to assist the game’s production by providing supplemental funds to the studio’s existing budget and will provide the potential for additional features and polish, as well as giving dedicated fans the chance to be immortalised in the game!
A few of the early features to be confirmed for Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 are as follows, although this is by no means a complete list!
- A brand-new setting in the USA
- A complete overhaul for career mode
- A fundamental reworking of the grass technology

More details, along with other features and improvements planned for Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 will be revealed over the course of the development process, as well as the date for the launch of the Kickstarter campaign.
