'33 Immortals' Reveals Updated Content Roadmap, Sneak Peek At Paradiso Update

by Rainier on Jan. 13, 2026 @ 10:26 p.m. PST

33 Immortals is a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players where you play a damned soul, and rebel against God's final judgement.

Play a damned soul, and rebel against God's final judgment. Dive straight into epic 33-player co-op battles with instant “pick-up and raid” matchmaking. Cooperate with your allies to survive against hordes of monsters and massive, challenging bosses. Expand your arsenal and equip powerful new relics to permanently upgrade your soul. Face the wrath of God in a fight for your eternal life.

33 Immortals invites players to “face the wrath of God” in a “lean, mean distillation of the MMO raid experience” upon its Early Access release on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and with Xbox Game Pass for console and PC in 2024. Fans are encouraged to sign up for the coming Beta on the developer’s website.

In 33 Immortals, players are damned souls, rebelling against God's final judgment. The game’s quick and seamless matchmaking launches 33 players into punchy co-op roguelike raids, in a radically streamlined re-imagining of the MMO experience Thunder Lotus has dubbed “pick-up and raid”. Players optimize their builds to match their playstyle, mixing and matching weapons, perks, and persistent upgrades to steadily improve their rebellion’s odds of withstanding the wrath of God. Above all, 33 Immortals actively encourages players to collaborate throughout the runs, to ensure that the largest and strongest group possible survives the enemy hordes, and prevails in the showstopping boss fights.

2026 is going to be a busy and exciting year for 33 Immortals, and we have roadmap news that we want to share with you, so let’s jump in straight away!

Early Access Roadmap Update

Back in October, we presented you a new roadmap, adding new weapons to our Early Access timeline, and postponing Paradiso to 1.0 release. After many internal discussions, we decided to change that timeline. Here’s what changes, and why:

  • Our next update will release in February with the Gluttony weapon (instead of having Gluttony and Charity)
  • The Charity weapon is postponed to 1.0 release, which will be during Summer 2026
  • Paradiso moves up the timeline and will release this Spring

We also removed the Dark Woods decorations from the game’s scope to allow us to focus on overall game quality and add frequently requested features: dynamic difficulty and the ability to join a party directly in Dark Woods will be added in the next two updates, among other new features.

Here’s the new roadmap with the full list of upcoming additions:

We were originally aiming to include the two new weapons in the next update but we realised that this was too ambitious if we wanted to hit that February deadline. However, the team has made good progress on Paradiso and delaying one weapon allows us to focus on that final Paradiso stretch and release it sooner than planned. This also allows us to test Paradiso with the community, gather your feedback, and fine tune it before 33 Immortals releases its 1.0 version.

FAQ

I really wanted to be able to Decorate Dark Woods: will I ever be able to?

The Decorate Dark Woods feature has been cut from the game’s scope because we wanted to take the time to add more critical features that would improve the overall game quality, and we wanted to make sure Paradiso and the two upcoming new weapons were as polished as possible. We understand that you may be sad to see it go (we’re sad too!) but we already have a lot of cosmetics in 33 Immortals and when deciding which feature to cut, it was the one that made the most sense.

What’s the “Game Complete” mentioned to the right of the roadmap?

Since 33 Immortals is still in Early Access, each major update brings us closer to a fully complete game. “Game Complete” means that once we reach 1.0 release, 33 Immortals will be feature-complete and represents the full experience we envisioned for the game.

Until then, each Early Access update aims to build toward a strong, polished 1.0, and we’re excited to share those final steps with you!

Will you still support 33 Immortals after its 1.0 release?

Yes, the game will still be supported, with servers, bug fixes and patches, after its 1.0 release.

So while you’ll have to wait a little longer to get your hands on the mysterious Charity weapon, Gluttony is just around the corner, you’ll soon be able to join a party in Dark Woods, and Paradiso will come sooner than planned! As a Happy New Year treat, here’s a sneak peek of some Paradiso environment, and a monster you’ll encounter during your runs!

Paradiso Sneak Peek

The art direction intention for Paradiso is to return to abstraction, with the addition of basic shapes, while also mixing it with elements of Catholicism, by including bits of church architecture for example. This will reflect in both the environments and the monsters you’ll have to face.

Here’s the Paradiso Secret Chamber entrance: the architecture of the door has changed, the ground has a different visual and the shapes of nature are more organic but also a bit bizarre and otherworldly.

The image below is the interior of the Palace of Paradiso, which is the building you find at the very top of the map, right above the Ascension Point. Everything here is inspired by the image of God: the three rings at the center top, and the angels surrounding it. You also see angels everywhere on the wall, and the basic shapes I was telling you about earlier, on the stained glass.

And lastly, here’s one of the many new monsters you’ll encounter in Paradiso: it doesn’t have a name yet.

Our intention with the Paradiso monsters is simple: we wanted to do a depiction of Biblically accurate angels, and combine them with shapes and abstract elements. Actually, if you pay attention to how Inferno and Purgatorio monsters visually differ from each other, you can already see that there’s a transition from more concrete in Inferno to more abstract in Purgatorio.

In Paradiso, we’re fully embracing the abstract elements.

The wings and eyeballs are taken from the biblically accurate angels, while the abstract elements include geometrical additions, like the pyramid head you’re seeing on the monster.

Here’s a work in progress video of its attack patterns. This enemy is inspired by the virtue of Prudence and it aims to guide Rebel Souls into practicing it. We’re not seeing all its abilities here, but fighting this monster will require you to pay excellent attention to not just what it does to you and your allies but also to itself and its allies.

That’s it for the sneak peek! We still have a lot of work to do with Paradiso and we’re very excited that you’ll get to discover this new world this Spring! We hope you’re as excited as we are!

As I said in the intro of this blog, 2026 is going to be a big year for 33 Immortals, and we have some more news coming up later this month, so make sure to keep an eye out!

See you soon, Immortals!
