Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the first entry in the series since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 released in 2007 on PS2
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero brings the series forward to a new era by harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5 and pushing the envelope for gameplay and features in an arena brawler. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero also brings the franchise back to the original Japanese naming convention, where the original Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi was titled Dragon Ball Z: Sparking!
The game’s gravity-defying fights promise to ‘shake the earth, break the heavens’, with each Dragon Ball character’s signature destructive powers and Ki abilities showcased in stunning detail with damage capable of destroying entire parts of the arena.
Engage in exhilarating battles with exceptional visual fidelity, fighting arenas with destructible environments, and an incredible roster of Dragon Ball fighters.
Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will receive new content in the form of a DLC, coming this year.
In addition to new characters that will be revealed later, the game will receive new costumes and stages as well as new modes. Super 17, Bardock (Super Saiyan) and King Piccolo are part of the upcoming characters.
In addition to the DLC announcement, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will receive two free major updates. The first free update will include a new mode called “Mission 100”. It’s a solo mode featuring 100 battles with specific conditions for both your team and your opponents, similar to a mode that existed in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Another free update coming this spring will add a “Survival Mode.”
The new DLC content will be arriving this summer for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will begin to receive DLC from the Season Pass starting this winter and will receive additional content at a later date.
Also revealed at the event, the theme song for the new DLC has been decided and it is written and performed by Hironobu Kageyama. This marks his first time in 18 years contributing a theme song to content related to the Dragon Ball: Sparking! series, with both the lyrics and composition handled by Kageyama himself. Please look forward to a powerful track that perfectly matches the intense battles featured in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is available for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
