Code Vein II features a deep narrative where players and characters are bound by blood, fate, and destiny, set in a future where the last remnants of humanity and Revenants struggle against a world on the verge of collapse. Following the sudden emergence of a threat known as the Luna Rapacis, Revenants have succumbed to madness, transforming into terrifying creatures called Horrors. A Revenant Hunter, guided by a mysterious girl named Lou who possesses the power to travel into the past to rewrite the fate of the world. The player, as the Revenant Hunter, will intervene in key moments of history to alter key revenants’ destinies that reveal hidden truths and information to save the future.
Code Vein II features distinctive gameplay for an action RPG, where players use blood drained from enemies to unlock a variety of powerful skills, build strategy for combat with Blood codes, and use unique weapons and equipment called Jails to overcome challenging foes and epic bosses. Players can also forge bonds with powerful Partner allies who fight alongside them and enhance their abilities. Each Partner offers distinct skills and deep narrative connections that shape the journey. Bandai Namco will reveal many more details about the rich universe and game play in Code Vein II in the future.
The Code Vein II walkthrough trailer invites players to journey between past and present as the Revenant Hunter fights to prevent the world’s collapse. This video takes them 100 years into the past, where they join Josée on her mission to cleanse the polluted waters of Sunken City and uncover the truth behind its crisis. Haunted by guilt over past mistakes, Josée’s story reveals the heavy burden she carries, and the epic battles that await.
The walkthrough introduces Sunken Pylon, a vast area that holds the key to purifying Sunken City. As they explore, players will experience combat across seven distinct weapon types, ranging from the agile new dual blades to the devastating power of the halberd.
Alongside these weapons, the trailer introduces Formae, special skills divided into three categories: weapon, defensive and bequeathed. Each Forma consumes Ichor, a vital resource gained through the Drain attack mechanic, which fuels powerful abilities.
The partner system also comes into focus, allowing players to seamlessly switch between summoning a partner to fight alongside them or assimilating their combat prowess. The trailer further highlights the Restorative Offering, where partners can restore the fallen Hunter with recovered health, though a cooldown leaves them temporarily incapacitated and unable to assist in battle.
Ahead of launch, players can dive into the Code Vein II Character Creator Demo starting 23 January 2026. Customised Revenant Hunters can be saved and transferred into the full game at launch, while they can also explore the MagMell Institute, striking a pose in Photo Mode, or relax in the Hot Spring.
