You may not be the best team of mercenaries, but you are a Toxic Commando!
In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth’s core ends in a terrifying disaster: the release of the Sludge God. This eldritch abomination begins terraforming the area, turning soil to scum and the living to undead monsters. Luckily, the genius behind the experiment has a plan to make things right. All he needs is a team of competent, highly trained mercenaries to get the job done. … Unfortunately, they were all too expensive. Which is why he’s hired… The Toxic Commandos.
Play in squads of up to 4 friends — with full crossplay support across PC and consoles — and send the Sludge God and its horde of things-that-should-never-be back to the underworld. Pick your character and choose the class that matches your playstyle, pile into your favorite ride, and unload an array of gunfire, grenades, special abilities, and freaking katanas.
Whether behind-the-wheel or on foot, players will face massive enemy hordes and daunting bosses, all powered by Saber's Swarm Engine, the technology behind World War Z: Aftermath and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Fully supporting cross-platform co-op, the game gives adepts of adrenaline hunters and ’80s horror fans a release window to fear with excitement!
Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive go full grindhouse with a very special animated trailer for John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, the ’80s action-horror-inspired shooter arriving March 12 on all platforms.
A visual work of art celebrating the John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando experience
Today’s trailer brings the game’s buddy-movie-meets-over-the-top-action spirit to life in vibrant cartoon form. Crafted by the tremendous talent at Gizmo Animation, this animated trailer also features John Carpenter as a terrifying zombie party-god, with the Master of Horror himself voicing his character and setting the stage for an apocalypse unlike any other.
Powering this vibrant world and perfectly capturing the energy of 80s movies is the original track by synthwave band Gunship, “Tell Me When the World Stops Ending”, composed specifically for the trailer.
A blend of animation, voice, and music that flows naturally, highlighting the skill and dedication of the whole team behind it.
