Bread & Fred is a challenging co-op platformer where two players must cooperate to jump and climb to the top of a snowy mountain. Play as both Bread and Fred in their exasperating and sometimes maddening climb that requires precision with every jump. Each time you land you’ll be closer to the peak and one step closer to mastering the platforming, but your fall down the mountain will be even farther.

Meet the newest member of the mountaintop crew, Pol the Polar Bear. Race Pol to the finish line in 10 all-new time trial challenges to unlock special rewards.

Bundle up for the tandem-trek of a lifetime as Bread and Fred, pint-sized penguin pals, embark on a journey to the top of the summit. Intrepid climbers land heart-pounding jumps, clear sprawling gaps, and maneuver slippery platforms, all while attached at the hip to a (hopefully) trusty partner. Communicate via in-game emojis to count down every jump. 

Infogrames and Sand Castles Studios announced that Bread & Fred, will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on February 24, 2026, for $14.99, joining its availability on PC (Steam / GOG / Epic Games Store) and Nintendo Switch. 

In addition to the base game, console players can also trek through the game’s ‘Laboratory Update,’ which doubled the game’s content by adding a whole new 666-meter map packed with new mechanics, NPCs and lore, as well as several new puzzle rooms and secrets to discover.

Find the perfect penguin partner and clear record-setting runs together in Speedrun Mode. Interested in a single-player solo climb? Swap out a penguin pal for Jeff the Rock to sling and jump-throw across the slippery slopes. 

Clamber to the jams across all genres, from smooth jazz to hip-hop, with the “Super Duper Ultra Redux” mixtape, featuring an hour of toe-tapping, wing-flapping tracks from legendary gaming composers like Grant Kirkhope (GoldenEye, Donkey Kong 64), Chipper Hammond (composer, Turbo Overkill), and Tim Stoney (Assassin’s Creed: Origins). Find the perfect song for every climb with the Jukebox inside Bread and Fred’s house, easily accessible via the pause menu.
