Structured similarly to the parent studio in Barcelona, this new team will focus on development for emerging platforms, further diversifying and expanding the publisher’s release catalog.

Abylight Buenos Aires launches as a young, dynamic studio under the coordination of Débora Sofía Theaux Leutgeb—developer, educator, and regional organizer for The Global Game Jam in Argentina. She will lead projects centered on innovation and technical quality to support Abylight’s global infrastructure.

The formation of this new studio is a testament to Abylight’s future-facing commitment to development in LATAM and its mission to discover new talent worldwide.

Eva Gaspar, CEO of Abylight Studios, stated: “This is a project we have had in mind for a long time, but it could only materialize once we found the right team. We now have a young, professional studio that allows us to explore new avenues of development in LATAM.”

The fruits of this collaboration will arrive very soon: Abylight Buenos Aires will launch its first projects during the spring of 2026 across multiple platforms. Specific titles and formats will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The integration of Abylight Buenos Aires reinforces the company's structure and solidifies its commitment to independent development on an international scale. 

With over two decades of history, Abylight remains one of the longest-standing and most robust companies in the Spanish sector. Its members, who began developing for 8-bit and 16-bit platforms, remain active today. Abylight holds the distinction of being the first Spanish studio to collaborate with Nintendo Japan and the first national studio to launch a game for Switch 2.

On March 5, Abylight will launch Citadelum for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Other 2026 releases include the beat 'em up Underling Uprising, Amnesia: Rebirth for Nintendo Switch 2, and further titles yet to be announced.
