Redmond Carolipio: I got to see Dying Light 2 in action at E3 2019, back when conventions and people were a thing. It was one of my favorite sights at the show, mainly because of what Techland is calling a "narrative sandbox," where your choices have a real impact of how the rest of the game could pan out for you. Stunning visuals and four-player co-op round out the package.
Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: Though it's sadly been some time since we've gotten updates on Dying Light 2, there's still a lot to anticipate from this sequel to one of the best zombie-bashing games of all time. Against a postapocalyptic backdrop, Dying Light 2 promises to expand upon the original. There will be more choices, more factions, and of course more horrifying undead creatures to deal with. Even if it's just as good as the first game, that'll make Dying Light 2 an absolute must-play for anyone who enjoys smashing zombies and climbing buildings.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: The original Dying Light felt like an evolution of games like Dead Island to me by taking the idea of an open-world game that features the undead and elevating it to the next level. It was a fun game where you feared what lurked after the sun set but felt empowered during the daytime as you parkoured around and took out zombies. All I really need from the sequel is that it brings more of the same, as playing through the original with a co-op buddy was a great time.
Andreas Salmen: We should have already gotten our hands on the much-anticipated sequel to Dying Light, but frequent delays pushed back the title further. It seems 2021 will finally be the year we can jump back into this zombie apocalypse. A prospect that would usually seem rather grim, but thanks to its fun parkour traversal system and the prospect of "meaningful choices" (not that we haven't heard that before), it could certainly make a strong impression. I'm hoping that the sequel to one of my "surprise hits" of recent years can do so once again.
