Redmond Carolipio: I'm wondering why it took so long for Gollum to get his own game, but the gameplay concept appears to be perfectly suited for him. I get the impression it'll be a combination of climbing, stealth and probably some puzzle stuff in rich Middle-earth environs. I'm most looking forward to inhabiting the space of the character himself, where everything will just seem bigger as he duels with his split personalities.
Rhi "StormyDawn" Mitera: It's a beautiful day in Mordor, and you are a horrible Gollum. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum combines stealth, platforming and action into a game about making sure a bunch of orcs have a bad day, and really, what more could you ask for? It's like a puzzle-based assassin game! As much as I love the Shadow of Mordor games, Gollum looks like a refreshing approach to one of my most beloved franchises.
Rainier Van Autrijve: It's been a long time since we had a game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" novels. Aside from The Lord of the Rings Online (in its 15th year), there has only been LEGO: The Lord of the Rings. Amazon Studios' The Lord of the Rings MMO was canceled in 2021, so TLotR: Gollum remains our only precious upcoming action-adventure game in the LotR realm. The developer may not be too well known to the mainstream gamer, but it has been around for over a decade and has a good track record of telling stories based on literary works, which is exactly what The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is: a more in-depth look at the story of Gollum/Sméagol in pursuit of his precious lost ring. While Gollum is a well-known character, it will be interesting to see and hear more about his backstory.
