Redmond Carolipio: I'm cautiously looking forward to Metroid Prime 4, but are we sure it's even coming out this year? It's been on everyone's radar since 2017, and the Metroid series itself has had a complicated development history. It's a testament to how good Metroid Prime was to keep anticipation this high for this long, so I feel like one of those people keeping the light on for any bit of news.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: Metroid Prime 4 exists ... and that's all we really know about it right now. The poor game has had a heck of a development cycle since it was announced in 2017, having first bounced through Bandai Namco before landing back in the hands of Retro Studios, who developed the original trilogy. There's little fact to go by and a lot of speculation surrounding the game. I'm just hoping that it takes the chance to tighten up the gameplay, as I always felt the Prime games feel a little cumbersome, but I'm also a sucker for all things Metroid.
Andreas Salmen: Restarted development and a lot of radio silence are all we have to show for Metroid Prime 4 several years after its initial announcement. With no footage or release window, I'm not very hopeful that we'll see a release this year, but perhaps a proper announcement with actual gameplay and a release of its original trilogy on the Switch could be in the cards. Let's hope that whatever this turns out to be can live up to the legacy of the franchise. Who knows? Maybe we'll see a release late this year or shortly beyond that.
