As WP's managing editor, I edit review and preview articles, attempt to keep up with the frantic pace of Rainier's news posts, and keep our reviewers on deadline, which is akin to herding cats. When I have a moment to myself and don't have my nose in a book, I like to play action/RPG, adventure and platforming games.

9. 'Bayonetta 3' (Switch)

A new-look Bayonetta returns to battle foes with her signature Witch Time! This time, she’ll wield her new Demon Masquerade ability to channel the power of demons and engage in larger-than-life action.

Redmond Carolipio: The Bayonetta series has long been one of my favorite examples of extreme Japanese action and design. Behind all the vivaciousness of the character has always been some of the cleanest and most attractive combat on any system. We also need to talk about Bay-bay's new hair as she summons ethereal fists or a massive creature she can actually pilot in a Godzilla-style slugfest. Who's not here for that?

Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: It seemed like it might have been lost to the depths of development hell, but last year finally gave us our newest glimpse of Bayonetta 3. Taking a trip to Tokyo and sporting a new look, Bayonetta looks just as stylishly ridiculous as ever. We only got a brief glimpse of the gameplay, but it looks like we can expect new weapons, improved torture attacks, and even a Devil Trigger-style "Madame Butterfly" mode. The wait might be long, but it certainly looks like it was worth it.

Cody Medellin: It's exciting to return to the world of high-octane slashing and gunplay, and it's also exciting to see the ridiculous new ways to finish off demons. Bayonetta 3 features the promise of fusing demons to provide even crazier attacks and being able to use demons to attack in your stead. Considering that it took this long since the teaser announcement to get a real trailer, the wait for this Switch exclusive should be almost over.

Andreas Salmen: The Bayonetta series is the gold standard of hack-and-slash games. After a great sequel, the third installment has large shoes to fill, but we haven't seen much about it in the four years since its initial reveal. While I am concerned that the limited power of the Switch may hold back the title, I'm here for whatever craziness Platinum Games has in store this time around.
