Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: Another of the long list of upcoming remakes, Persona 3 Reload is technically the fourth version of the game. This particular release is a full-on remake in the style of Persona 5, combining the original gameplay of Persona 3 with a bucketload of new features, ranging from expanded social links to over-the-top special moves in battle. Hopefully it can provide the most definitive version of the game to date (for the male side of the story).
Cody Medellin: With Persona 3 Portable hitting most platforms last year, it seems very odd to release a remake of the game so soon. The promise of revised content and several quality-of-life changes do make this an interesting proposal, even if a few things from the previous release were exorcised in the process. It releases quite soon, so we'll see if the changes made to a modern classic are worth the full retail price of the game.
Andreas Salmen: If you've read any of our Persona 5 reviews, P5 and P5 Royal were both my first Persona games and some of my favorite games of all time. Persona 3: Reload feels like a remake made for me — and everyone else who started with P5 and still needs to work their way back to P3. It's great to be able to experience the starting point of the series as we know it today — but remade for a post-Persona 5 world with the standards and features that fans expect in 2024. I'm eager to give it a try when it releases in less than a week.
