2. 'Hades II' (PC)

Hades II is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you'll battle beyond the Underworld of Greek myth using dark sorcery to take on the sinister Titan of Time.

Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: The original Hades is one of the most enjoyable roguelike games ever made. It takes the simple act of dying and makes it an engaging part of the core game as you find more plot, more characters, and more gimmicks with each failure. The blistering-fast gameplay was simple to pick up and yet delightful to play, so it was a raw joy. A chance for a second bite at the pomegranate seeds with Hades II is exciting enough, but the new protagonist, new gods and new setting all serve to make Supergiant's first sequel into something that's truly worth getting excited over.

Cody Medellin: Like any sequel, Hades II is promising more of everything, from fast action to more Greek gods and more build types for your character. The game promises a new story and new protagonist, which keeps things fresh for veterans while ensuring that newcomers don't have to worry about missing out on the first game. This is going to hit Early Access on all PC storefronts, so Steam fans won't have to wait for a full release before diving in.

Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: I didn't expect to like Hades as much as I did, if only because that genre simply isn't usually my jam. The original game was so exceptionally well done and its gameplay loop so outright satisfying that it can't help but win you over. Hades II really doesn't need to do anything other than continue what made the original game so much fun to play. At the same time, I'm sure Supergiant Games isn't just sitting on its hands when it comes the honing the gameplay.
