Redmond Carolipio: I'm looking forward to Fable out of pure nostalgia. There's always room in my heart for some epic fantasy with a dash of whimsy, which it what the trailer showed. I enjoyed the original, and I'm looking to see what kind of world gets built during this era of gaming.
Adam Pavlacka: Rebooting Fable with the ForzaTech engine wasn't something anyone expected, but I've very interested to see how well the game delivers on the original's promise of being able to play good or evil. The original trilogy took some big swings, but it didn't always deliver. If the Playground Games team can finally give us that choice of character development, Fable should be an intriguing experience.
Rainier Van Autrijve: Twenty-five years after the original Fable launched on Xbox, the franchise is hitting the reset button, and we're getting a fresh start. The trickle of information over the past decade gives us hope that the series' typical British humor and action/RPG gameplay are intact, and that's enough to excite any fan of the series. (The IT Crowd's Richard Ayoade is an added bonus.) Fable is expected to release later this year, and Microsoft is ramping up the PR machine with an Xbox Developer_Direct Showcase on Jan. 22 that promises gameplay and insights — and perhaps even a release date.
