Redmond Carolipio: Not only is this a period piece in spirit, but it gives off some "Guardians of the Galaxy" vibes in the sense that it could be unexpectedly excellent. The chances to see and utilize Cap in his OG element and Black Panther — a character that many people dearly miss — is too good to pass up.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera: A Captain America game set back in his time as a soldier in World War II gets my attention. What's been shown of the game so far seems awfully flashy, and while developer Skydance New Media doesn't have a track record, there's some strong talent in their ranks. I'm hoping there's some substance to back up the Marvel branding and the gameplay delivers.
Rainier Van Autrijve: I'm a Captain America fan, so color me beyond excited. There have been plenty of movies and comic book material, but the video game pickings have been slim, with 2011's Captain America: Super Soldier being the last notable installment. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is set in occupied Paris during World War II. Cappy shares center stage with Black Panther, the Howling Commandos and the Wakandan Spy Network, and that variety only adds to the appeal. It's a narrative-driven action/adventure, so there will be plenty of lore to dig through. The recent delay to beyond "early 2026" is a little concerning, but with this kind of property, I'd rather have the developers take their time to get it right.
