We have arrived safely at our destination! It's a little bit colder than we would have liked, but we'll make do. Tomorrow, we are going to start our sightseeing, and this weekend we're even going to do some mountain climbing! OK, maybe it's more hiking than climbing, but still ....
Since the laptop isn't exactly equipped for gaming, there will be no Crimecraft for me. :( I have checked out Rockstar's Facebook app, Red Dead Redemption: Gunslingers
, which is kinda cool to tide you over until the actual game comes out.
The latest news is that Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon is not only directing but also re-writing The Avengers — you know, that movie with Nick Fury, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. I'm so looking forward to it already!

My hearing from yesterday's Faith No More concert is almost back to normal. Thank goodness! I slept like a brick yesterday; two hours in the mosh pit definitely took its toll.
Tomorrow, the WP HQ will be running on a little bit of a different schedule. We're taking a little vacation break for the rest of the week, but the trusty laptop has already been packed so we will be staying on top of things either way.
Just finished watching the latest episode of The Pacific, and it still does not have the magic as Band of Brothers, no matter how acclaimed the series might be. We're halfway through the series, and so far, only one character has any depth, but there's still not much of a connection.

We just got back from the Faith No More concert, two hours of awesomeness! The opening acts were disastrous, some of the worst, incomprehensible, terrible stuff I have ever seen. But all was forgotten as soon as FNM took the stage for the next couple of hours. Live rock concerts usually have issues with sounding too muddled or loud, but this time around, the sound was incredibly good.
I was in the mosh pit from start to finish, so not only am I partly deaf for the next few days, but I'm also worn out, and my neck hurts. Guess I'm not as young and resilient as I used to be ....

The festivities are over. I feel like I gained a few pounds, so it's time to tighten the belt and work off all the food we ate over the weekend.
Tonight, we have a Faith No More
concert, so that should be quite exciting! Haven't seen them in a long time, especially since they broke up in 1998, so when we heard about the reunion and them coming to town, we simply HAD to get tickets. We got a little bit lucky, as initially there was only one show planned, which sold out instantly, but two additional show dates were added and we managed to snag some tickets.

Part one of our eat-fest has been successfully completed. We went to a restaurant we hadn't been to in about eight years, and it was quite good. We weren't planning on being out as long as we did, so we did not get around to catching up on our DVR recordings for the week. It's up to 49% full, so we had better make a dent later on.
As we have a birthday today, it will start with a homemade breakfast, maybe a movie, some TV series, and dinner. Busy busy ....

The Konami Gamers Day on Thursday was interesting. There was a sneak peek of the new Silent Hill game, which was nothing more than a teaser that promised more detail would come at E3. Guess we'll have to wait until then. We did, however, get to sit down with the Castlevania people and managed to get an interesting interview, so keep an eye out for that sometime next week.
This weekend will be spent eating and watching TV, two of our favorite pastimes. Today we have a late lunch/early dinner engagement with some friends/co-workers we haven't seen in a long time, and on Sunday, we have a birthday celebration, so more eating is involved. Luckily, neither occasion involves us strapping on the apron, so we're quite happy about that.

Well that was not part of the plan. Sometime last night, I got sleepy, dozed off in my office chair in the middle of updates and what was supposed to be a quick nap ended up being an all-night snooze fest.
So, now that I'm all chipper, I'll get right to it ....

The more I read and see about Red Dead Redemption, the more I am looking forward to it and secretly hoping that, like every other Rockstar game, it is coming to the PC. You hear me, guys?!
There's been a little bit of frustration in the world of CrimeCraft. A new content patch is expected this month, but in tinkering with server performance, a nasty memory bug has snuck in somewhere, and over the past week or two, the game has been going belly up three to four times a day, peaking in yesterday's daily tournament, where yours truly was in the finale, but alas, mere seconds into the final shootout, the server crapped out again.

It was a little bit of a quiet day yesterday, with Europe mainly still in Easter holiday mode, but that should be changing again today, as of right ... now!
We've been making good headway on catching up on DVR stuff, as we watched Flashforward, 24 and Human Target. Yesterday we also checked out the latest ep. of The Pacific, and while it is not bad by a long shot, it is not nearly as good as Band of Brothers. It seems to be lacking the intensity as well as the character depth as BoB. So far, there seems to be no chemistry between any of the characters like Maj. Richard D. Winters
and Capt. Lewis Nixon
, for starters. We're not even halfway through the series, so hopefully the pacing picks up.

The Easter bunny has come and gone, but he left us enough goodies to devour for the rest of the week.
After our big breakfast this morning, we were going to go walk it off, but it started raining right after and did not let up for the rest of the day, so instead we plopped ourselves on the couch and watched a few episodes of NCIS, Chuck, Castle, the latest Lost and The Amazing Race. Maybe not the most productive day, but we loved every minute of it.
For dinner, we cooked ourselves some nice Easter Ham with Mango Ginger Glaze
, and it was most delicious.
Now it's time to check out today's episode of The Pacific

Wow, that was some marathon sleeping we did last night! Phew!
Happy Easter to everyone out there. Hope the ever-elusive bunny brought you loads of goodies. We got some Easter bunny marshmallows and gummy bears, very tasty!
Yesterday we went to see Clash of the Titans in 3D, bright & early to beat the crowd (and also to avoid the crazy new prices for 3D shows!). The movie is pretty good and is a nice action flick but not worth it to see it in 3D at all. There are only a handful of scenes that are actually in 3D, and none of them are as impressive as Avatar, not even close. Bottom line: Save a few extra dollars and see the regular 2D version. You won't be missing anything.

In a few hours, we are going to be in (a hopefully short) line for the Clash of the Titans remake in 3D. We've been looking forward to this for quite a while, ever since Brash announced it was working on a video game for "an upcoming remake," and teaser footage made it quite clear which epic title it actually was.
While browsing around, we came across another movie that we had lost track of, The Expendables
, with what has to be the most '80s action heroes ever, starring Sylvester Stallone
, Dolph Lundgren
, Eric Roberts
, with cameos from Bruce Willis
and Arnold Schwarzenegger
, but also Mickey Rourke
, Jet Li
, Jason Statham
and a slew of others. We're so

Why do people keep on interfering with our TV watching? Don't they know we have lots of catching up to do?!
Got a cool little gift from DC Comics/Wildstorm. They sent us the first issue of the God of War comic book. I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of today's comic books; the art style is usually not to my liking, nor do I enjoy the fact that there's a full-page ad every few pages. However, it's a cool item to have, so I can't really complain too much.

The weather has been great for the past week or so, but today, out of nowhere, the wind picked up and rain came down in buckets. I'm ready for the summer already. Bring it!
Nothing too exciting going on last night, we are sort of mesmerized with The Creeps on iPod/iPhone, a lite tower defense game that we've been playing for the past few days, and it's so much fun.
Luckily, the iPod needed charging so we had some time to watch FlashForward, Supernatural, and Dancing With the Stars, with a stunning-looking Pamela Anderson as Marilyn Monroe.

April Fool's Day is quietly approaching, and I'm already on the lookout for early pranks. We've been quite good at avoiding any trickery over the past few years, but I always get extra suspicious right around this time. Some of the jokes are quite intricate, and I do enjoy reading about them, but hate to get fooled myself.
Didn't get much watching done last night. We had some company over, but we did manage to watch the 3rd episode of The Pacific, and while there was as good as no war-time action, it was still a powerful ep., showing a more behind-the-scenes look of what went on while GIs were on leave.

Our dinner party last night was a raging success. The initial plan was for a casual get-together with our neighbor, daughter and her future son-in-law, but as mentioned earlier, the number of guests ballooned from five to 10 (and two more showed up during the course of the dinner) because other people just invited themselves as word spread. It took us all afternoon slaving in the kitchen, but based on the feedback, it was a resounding hit. Maybe we should start WorthEating soon ...
We'll be rubbing our fat bellies for the rest of the evening/morning, but let's get some news rolling while we're at it.

Today was a beautiful day, with nice weather, some shopping, Jamba Juice, BBQ, a visit to the farmers market, and plenty of videos games and TV watching.
We did all our errands for our little neighborhood bash tomorrow, and we'll be prepping all afternoon to be ready by dinner time.
We caught up on a few hours of FlashForward, and while the pots are simmering, we'll hopefully catch up on a few other things.

The weekend has arrived! Time to relax a little and play some games. When I'm not grinding away in CrimeCraft
, I have been checking out Greed: Black Border
, and I must admit I'm totally loving that little game. Old-school isometric view, lots of creepy crawlers, a little bit of RPG elements, and lots of firepower. What's not to like right?
This weekend, we have a big party to prepare for. It started out with us planning to cook for three friends, but oddly enough, additional people invited themselves when they heard about it, and it ballooned to nine. Guess that's somehow a good thing.
Last night, we had a little "24" marathon and watched three episodes back to back, which had us sitting on the edge of our couch. In case you had not heard the news, Fox has stated that this will be the final season
, but there will be a "24" movie in the works.

We have a confession to make ....
Last night, we watched Dancing With the Stars. Admittedly a shocking revelation, but when it has a real-life American hero such as Buzz Aldrin
, Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty
, Olympic gold medal skater Evan Lysacek
, and last but not least, Baywatch sex symbol Pamela Anderson
, how can you NOT watch that?
Last day of the week, so let's get it over with ....

So we got our NDSi XL in the office yesterday and quickly tested it out, and once you have it in your hands, it's quite a bit bigger & clunkier than the old model. Even the stylus is bigger...
Our work ran a little later than expected in the evening so we did not get as much couch time as we had hoped, but managed to squeeze in an episode of the Amazing Race and Human Target.
Yesterday an interesting document dropped in my lap, a future update to CrimeCraft
will add gang operated "night clubs" to the game, and while that may not seem all the special, it;s what the developers plan to let gangs do in those "vip" clubs what made me read it twice. Without giving away details, let's just say it involves half naked women, poles, and "special services" provided. Interesting ...
