Microsoft's CEO Doesn't Have An Xbox 360

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will have to shop around for an X360 console this holiday season just like everybody else. "The Ballmer children do not have their Xbox 360 yet. I'm in the same boat as many of you," Ballmer said. "Thanks to the wonders of Sarbanes-Oxley, management does not get a free Xbox 360," he quipped at a meeting of technology industry executives. Sarbanes-Oxley means Microsoft would have to classify a free game console as income for Ballmer.

'Games for Women, Games by Women' Conference Announced

Women in Games International today announced their next conference titled "Games for Women, Games by Women." Scheduled on Saturday, February 18 from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Fort Mason Conference Center in San Francisco, this conference addresses the myth that women don't "do" games by discussing statistics, game genres and careers in game development.

'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion' (X360/PC) - 2 New Screens

Oblivion is a single-player game that takes place in Tamriel's capital province, Cyrodiil. You are given the task of finding the hidden heir to a throne that sits empty, the previous emperor having been killed by an unknown assassin. The official Oblivion website has been updated with information on the 21 different skills.

'Dragon Booster' (NDS) Races Into Stores

Konami America announced today that it shipped Dragon Booster for the Nintendo DS to retail stores nationwide. Based on the popular animated series airing on ABC Family and Toon Disney, Dragon Booster is a fast-paced, third person action racing video game which also includes combat elements.

Merscom today announced that Bode Miller Alpine Skiing, the only game that thrusts you into the highly competitive sport of alpine skiing as Olympic medallist and FIS World Cup champion Bode Miller, will ship to retailers nationwide in January. Bode Miller Alpine Skiing is known in Europe as Ski Alpin 2006.
