The past weekend was quite the cultural outing, with a museum trip on Saturday and The Phantom of the Opera 25th anniversary performance on Sunday. It was live at Royal Albert Hall in London, but it was
broadcast throughout movie theaters across the world.
We already have our movie for next week picked out,
Real Steel (starring
Hugh Jackman). The earlier trailers weren't really appealing, but the more recent clips caught our attention. Should be a good time.
Gaming-wise, it should be a good week with
RAGE scheduled to launch in a few days,
Dark Souls,
Just Dance 3,
NBA Jam,
NBA 2K12,
Spider-Man: Edge of Time, among other titles.

The new season of
Dexter (starring
Michael C. Hall) starts tonight, as well as the premiere of
Homeland (starring Emmy winner
Claire Danes and
Damian Lewis), so we'll be checking that out later today. I'm really hoping Homeland turns out to be a success. I've been a fan of
Damian Lewis since his role as Major Richard D. Winters in the
Band of Brothers miniseries.
If you want to have good laugh, check the
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil trailer. Not really suited for kids, though, due to the copious amounts of gore and blood.

Today will be a bit busy with the first order of business being a very overdue haircut, then groceries followed by a trip to the museum to see the
Dutch and Flemish Masterworks from the Rose-Marie and Eijk van Otterloo Collection and
The Mourners: Tomb Sculptures from the Court of Burgundy exhibits.
Whoever said I wasn't cultured, eh ? :)

Phew! After yesterday's red ring scare on the Xbox 360, it turns out that it's still functional. It just shut down automatically due to overheating. It is warm out here, and we had been playing Gears of War 3 and LEGO Star Wars III: Clone Wars for quite a bit, so it's understandable. More Gears of War 3 coming up!
Tonight we're going to watch The Debt, which we've been meaning to check out for a while. Figured we'd better hurry up before it disappears from the big screen.
You know what? I totally forgot that I had an early access code to play Battlefield 3, and now it's open beta. Better start the download!
