$250,000 'Best of the Battlefield' Tournament Now Open For SignUps

EA today announced people can sign up for the Best of the Battlefield tournament with a grand prize of $250,000 for the winning team. The online tournament will challenge gamers to rule the battlefield in Battlefield 2: Modern Combat available now for the PS2 and Xbox. Gamers can now register for the online tournament which starts on November 21st.

Atari Revenue Shrinks, Losses Increase, 'Marc Ecko' (ALL) Delayed

Atari today posted a wider quarterly loss, as sales fell 44 percent mainly due to it releasing fewer titles amid a transition to new video game console technology. Net loss for the quarter was $25.2M, compared to a net loss of $16.9M at this time last year. 'Castlevania' Coming To The Big Screen

Crystal Sky Pictures has bought the rights to Konami's Castlevania videogame franchise and has tagged Paul W.S. Anderson (Alien vs. Predator, Res. Evil) to adapt and direct. The Castlevania movie will focus on the origins of Dracula and the uprising of the Belmont Clan, a vampire-slaying family who supposedly become humanity's last hope. Crystal Sky is currently in the post-production stage on Ghost Rider, starring Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes. Castlevania production is slated to start in mid-2006; no casting has been announced yet.

Reserve the PS2 and Xbox versions of The Two Thrones and get the official Prince of Persia trilogy soundtrack for free, including music from The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones, along with a color artbook pamphlet and bonus downloads including an exclusive code to unlock a hidden sword in the game. This release fixes a problem with commentary and the save/restore problem in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, while rare crash in the physics system, and a line error command have been have been addressed in the Source Engine.
