SCEI is working on a sequel to what a lot of people call one of the best games of all time, ICO. Carrying a somewhat odd name, 'Wanda And The Colossus,' now known in Europe as Shadow of the Colossus, is situated in the same universe as its prequel, but will follow a totally different story line. Not much details are available yet, hopefully there will be more info during E3. In the meantime, check out the new screens...

Back in 2001 Mindscape released DayDream's Ski-Doo X-Team Racing, and now that Resolution Interactive has acquired the rights, it will update the game with the latest 2006 sled models from Bombardier, update the engine and also port it to Xbox and PS2.

Of all places, an online retailer in South Africa has a listing for an upcoming Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth expansion pack. No additional information was listed, apart from it being scheduled for release in September 2005. We contacted EA to see if there was any truth to the matter, and all we got was, "Rumors and speculation, no comment," but also a friendly piece of advice: "I wouldn't line up outside the store." A very popular franchise, a good RTS, and EA so an expansion pack would not be unheard of, but only time will tell ...

'The Sims 2' Coming to Consoles and Handhelds

Not really much of a surprise, but in a recent interview with IGN, Maxis producer Scot Amos revealed that they have been working on porting The Sims 2 to consoles and handheld systems. The base of the game will be content that people liked in The Sims 2, but also material taken from the University expansion pack. But people who are familiar with the PC edition, still might want to check the console editions, since it will also have new & exclusive content, new locations, new characters and so forth. The PS2 edition will support HDD and Eye Toy (you can import yourself into the game as a character), the Xbox version will HDTV and 720dpi, while the Gamecube will have custom content.

Film Giant MGM Shuts Down 'Stargate: Source' Mod

The creators behind the Half-Life 2 mod Stargate: Source have received a cease and desist order from MGM to immediately stop working on their mod project. "We are very displeased to announce that apparently MGM the huge company feels very threatened by a group of individuals spread throughout the world. We have received a letter to desist from the creation of the Stargate: Source mod. At this time we are still discussing the issue but it does appear that we are going to be shutting down." Albeit regrettable, this decision by MGM was expected since they are involved in the Stargate SG1: The Alliance game project, under development at JoWood.

SCEE today announce the arrival of the hugely anticipated first release from Yoshiki Okamoto's new studio, Game Republic. Gaming guru Okamoto-san has been responsible for some of the most ground-breaking titles of our time, including Street Fighter 2, Resident Evil and, more recently, Devil May Cry. No specific release date has been announced.
