Capcom is pleased to announce that Monster Hunter 2 for the PS2 has reached 500,000 units shipped as of February 17, 2006; within 2 days of its February 16, 2006 Japanese release. Combined with Monster Hunter Portable for the PSP, the latest installments in the Monster Hunter series have shipped over 1,000,000 units in Japan.

EA community update reveals that issues introduced in the newest
Battlefield 2 v1.2 patch have to be addressed first, and therefore the first Battlefield 2 booster pack, Euro Force, has been delayed until after the v1.21 patch is released. Currently, select Battlefield community members are helping EA test the new v1.21 patch to ensure a clean release.

Several weeks back Activision issued a statement promising a new CoD2 patch would be due in early 2006. A news post on the official
Infinite War forums, however, seems to reveal a serious issue with the Punkbuster implementation, "... IW are having problems with Punkbuster and can't get it working with the DX architecture. So, the promises of early 2006 have now some what been shattered and it is very doubtful we shall get an official statement from IW regarding what is happening now."

Ready At Dawn, an independent company founded by some of Jak and Daxter's original creators, is working on Daxter for the PSP, which finally lets players control Jak's wacky sidekick throughout the entire game. Daxter will be one of the first PSP titles to support connectivity with a PS2 title.

The past week a rumor was floating around MMO maker NCSoft could be working on its first single-player title, an action/rpg. Today at the start of the Taipei Game Show, Dungeon Runners was revealed. While details are still in short supply, such as whether it is an MMO or single-player product, we did manage to get the first screens. An official announcement should be coming up shortly.
