After three years, Gibson, one of the exclusive partners of Activision's Guitar Hero franchise, claims the game infringes on one of its patents and has notified Activision. In 1999, Gibson filed a patent for technology simulating a live performance using a musical instrument, a 3D headset with stereo speakers, and a pre-recorded concert. Not wanting to sit by idly, Activision has filed a lawsuit asking the U.S. District Court for California to declare Gibson's patent invalid and to bar it from seeking damages.

SCEA officially revealed Motorstorm 2, featuring 16 new multi-route tracks, head-to-head online for up to 16 players, and 4-player split-screen mode. MotorStorm 2 is moving from the rugged desert to a lush Pacific island with all of the vehicles familiar of the first game (ATVs, rally cars, buggies, motorbikes, race trucks, etc.), while adding a new monster truck class.

Long rumored, Capcom has finally revealed Lost Planet Colonies, not only adding single and multiplayer content to the original game, but also cross platform multiplayer compatibility. The campaign will add an extra 11 mission campaign, Score Attack and Time Trial Battle Mode, while multiplayer will get 4 new maps, 4 new playable characters, 10 new weapons and no less than 7 new game modes, such as Akrid Hunting (players team up to fend off an insect assault) and Akrid Egg (recover an unhatched egg).
