Chinatown Wars is an entirely original entry in the GTA franchise, and brings a new level of interactivity to its sprawling open environments. Last month SCEA announced a revamped PSP model with a higher quality LCD screens for better picture quality. Shortly thereafter rumors claimed that because of the enhanced screen the battery life would be shorter than the previous PSP model. Last week Square Enix made a surprise, but friendly, offer to acquire Tecmo, offering the Ninja Gaiden publisher a 30% premium, a bid that would expire Sept. 4, without further attempts in case of rejection. With that deadline now expired, Tecmo issued a statement that it is indeed not going to accept Square Enix's friendly takeover bid, but is instead talking to KOEI about merging the two companies.
