Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC Comics announce Batman: Arkham Asylum, a 3rd-person action game powered by the Unreal Engine 3, with a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock. Gamestop revealed a Batman collector's edition, which is listed at $100, and includes a 12" Batarang, DC Custom Encyclopedia, DLC pack 1, bonus DVD with behind the scenes footage and the soundtrack.

'The Lord of the Rings' License Reverted Back to Warner Brothers

Back in 2001 EA signed the right to make games based on The Lord of the Rings movies, which was initially set to expire in 2007, but extended an extra year to give Pandemic enough time to finish their LotR: Conquests title. With no intentions to renew the contract, the licensing expired rights have reverted back to Warner Brothers according to Variety, speculating that it will handle development of future titles on its own.
