Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

The World Ends With You (NDS)

The creators of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts bring a new mix of innovation and style to Nintendo DS with The World Ends With You. Drop into the center of Japan's youth culture with this stylish new title, set to revolutionize the way that DS games are experienced with its creative battle system, distinctive art style and hip soundtrack.

With a completely unique take on the capabilities of the DS system, The World Ends With You takes familiar DS functionalities and adds an exhilarating new edge. The battle system challenges players to take control of two characters simultaneously, choosing from a variety of touch and sound commands to unleash dynamic psychic abilities. With a soundtrack that complements the vibrant, urban visual style and a plot filled with riveting twists and turns, The World Ends With You promises to set new standards for the next generation of gamers.

The story begins as Neku Sakuraba, an unsociable 15-year-old boy, unexpectedly wakes up in the Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo, Japan. While trying to understand his rude awakening, he receives a strange text message warning him that he will cease to exist unless he accomplishes a certain mission. Although he barely has time to grasp what is happening to him, he undertakes his assigned task on the mysterious streets of Shibuya.

Features :

  • Distinctive modern art style created by a team of artists led by Tetsuya Nomura, world-renowned character designer of the upcoming Fabula Nova Crystallis project which includes Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII
  • Innovative Stride-Cross Battle System allows the player to control two characters simultaneously, unleashing special attacks with the stylus
  • Collect a vast array of custom-designed pins, each with a powerful psychic ability that can be activated with the right touch or sound command
  • Customize characters with Shibuya's coolest fashions and exchange items with other players via Mingle Mode -- Experience an amazing soundtrack, which combines musical influences
from hip-hop to rock to electronica
  • Battle with up to three friends in Tin Pin Slammer, an exciting and fast-paced mini-game, via local wireless connection

The World Ends With You, rated T for Teen, is available at North American retailers for the suggested retail price of $39.99 (USD).

Wild Earth: African Safari (Wii)

Wild Earth promotes environmental awareness by teaching players about more than 30 different species of exotic animals within their natural African habitat.

In Wild Earth: African Safari, players assume the role of a photo-journalist on assignment in Africa's Serengeti National Park. Throughout the game's 11 missions, adventurous photographers seeking out award-winning pictures can cruise the Park by land or air to investigate the bold hyena in a midday thunderstorm or observe the gentle giraffe grazing in the valley. While seeking the perfect picture of cheetahs, rhinos, lions, zebras and many more species, players must refrain from getting too close to the animals or disrupting the natural landscape; if they do, the Impact Meter will rumble the Wii Remote and make it harder to snap a steady picture.

Two new features exclusive to the Wii version include a cooperative multiplayer mode that allows up to four friends to either drive or shoot photographs, and a Safari Arcade Game mode where gamers can play from the animals' perspective in 11 games using intuitive gestures with the Wii Remote. In addition, an inspiring soundtrack from world music label, Talking Drum Records, lends an atmospheric backdrop to the game.

Developed by Super X Studios, Wild Earth African Safari is rated E for Everyone, and is now available for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

High School Musical 2: Work This Out! (NDS)

High School Musical 2: Work This Out! and Cory in the House, both for Nintendo DS, are now available in stores nationwide. In addition, Disney announced the upcoming releases of The Cheetah Girls: Passport to Stardom for Nintendo DS and Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour for PS2 this fall.

High School Musical 2: Work This Out! is the new musical adventure game that allows fans to play as Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad and Taylor in brand new storylines extending beyond the “High School Musical 2” movie sequel. The game features all 10 songs from “High School Musical 2” and allows players to listen to the songs even when the Nintendo DS is closed.

Also available in stores today is Cory in the House for Nintendo DS. Players take on the role of Cory, Newt or Meena as they attempt to reclaim Cory’s prize-winning Presidential bobble heads which have been tampered with by an evil toymaker, explore classified locations, navigate the streets of Washington DC, and explore brain-teasing mini-games.

Disney Channel fans also have exciting new games to look forward to this fall with the upcoming releases of Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour and The Cheetah Girls: Passport to Stardom. Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour returns for fans on the PlayStation 2 system in a new rhythm based game. It features more than 15 of Hannah Montana’s popular songs, allowing players to tour the world and shop for clothing and accessories in fashion districts around the globe, including Paris, London and Sydney.

In The Cheetah Girls: Passport to Stardom for Nintendo DS, players will join Aqua, Chanel and Dorinda on an international tour, as they embark on another wild musical adventure, singing, dancing and accessorizing their way through India, Spain and New York City. The game picks up where the upcoming Disney Channel original movie “The Cheetah Girls One World” ends, with the girls exploring and performing their way through India, and participating in various international competitions. Players will compete in dance-offs to new songs from the film and past Cheetah Girls favorites. They can also customize hundreds of outfits, choosing from an array of Indian-inspired fashions, as well as classic Cheetah Girls styles.

High School Musical 2: Work This Out! and Cory in the House are rated E for Everyone by the ESRB and available now for $29.99 at retail stores nationwide.
