Digital Mayhem Ships 'Giants: Citizen Kabuto'

Digital Mayhem, a division of Interplay Entertainment Corp., announced today that the highly anticipated game Giants: Citizen Kabuto has shipped to retail for the PS2 computer Entertainment system. Originally developed for the PC by Planet Moon Studios, the multi-award winning Giants: Citizen Kabuto takes full advantage of the PS2 cutting-edge technology.

Highly detailed character and world models along with new special effects have added to the already amazing game visuals of Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Featuring some of the most hilarious cut-scenes ever put into a video game, Giants: Citizen Kabuto is a must-have for all PlayStation(R)2 owners.

The story of Giants takes place on a planetary formation known as The Island, where three races find themselves at odds with one another: Meccaryns, a team of beer-guzzling cockney aliens who have technological superiority as their main weapon; Sea Reapers, gorgeous mystic beings who possess devastating elemental spells and magical combat abilities; and Kabuto, a huge thundering mass of horn and muscle who's advantage lays in his sheer brute force. Thrown in the mix together, these three warring species battle each other as well as the hostile environment of The Island in a grueling but often humorous struggle for supremacy and survival.

Viewing from a third-person perspective, the player controls each of the three main characters at different points in the storyline. Each race has access to different equipment and abilities as the game progresses. Just as the player's powers grow over the course of the game, so do those of their foes. Enemies use projectile weapons, magical spells and group tactics in effort to defeat the player -- and with each enemy the player defeats, new and greater challenges await just over the next hill.
