'Dominus Online' - Facts & Screens

by Rainier on Dec. 6, 2002 @ 7:13 a.m. PST

Dominus is a unique mix of persistent world gaming in a fantasy setting similar to Everquest, owned by Sony Entertainment, and Dark Ages of Camelot, which Mythic Entertainment developed and began selling October 2001. Regulator Studios builds on this principal with highly flexible and extensive Player vs. Player, Guild vs. Guild, and Player vs. Environment action mixed with its own unique gaming twist of up-tempo combat, intense game-play and ongoing storyline.

The year in Dominus is 2769. The races of Dominus have no prophets, no gods. They only have Dominus and the Arcane Power that flows through it. This is the world where new leaders will come to power, new kings will be crowned, new legends will be forged, new cities will rise and fall, guilds will come to power, and some will fall from grace.

The guild system will be very in-depth. Only guilds can control and own outpost (you must be guilded to place your outpost). Guilds will be able to form alliances, and create aggressive lists. You can add enemy guilds to this list, and any member of that guild that comes into your lands will be attacked by your guards. You may add allied guilds to your list so your guards do not attack them. The more outpost a guild controls the better thier economic rating is, and the more money they make. It also allows a guild to sell there items for a greater profit margin than others.

Your character will be unique with how you fashion his or her template over time. The neat thing about characters in Dominus is that you can change what your specialty is at anytime in the game without having to lose all the hard work and time you put into your character. The items that your character crafts or finds will have his or her mark. Characters will also be able to craft there own clothes and armor, and have a wide array of colors to choose from.
