'Dragon Throne' Goes Gold

by Rainier on March 14, 2002 @ 5:34 p.m. PST

Strategy First and Object Software are pleased to announce that Dragon Throne: Battle of Red Cliffs has gone gold and will ship to stores nationwide on March 26th, 2002.
“We are extremely excited about this title and our partnership with Object Software. Dragon Throne brings new elements to the strategy game genre and its rich history will appeal to gamers all over the world,” says Steven Milburn, Director of Marketing for Strategy First.

From the same talented team behind Fate of the Dragon, comes this great-scaled RTS that depicts the turbulent and chaotic time in Chinese history. Through three individual campaigns, players will control their kingdom’s armies and wage war for supremacy as either one of the three warlords, (Liu Bei, Sun Quan or Cao Cao) who played a pivotal role in ancient China.

Features to look for are a unique multi-map system that allows players to switch map windows to keep an eye on the battlefield or on the overall mission; detailed graphics and animation; management policies related to tactics, such as Domestic Policy, Diplomacy, Sacrifice, Science and Trade; a special profession transfer system that allows players to change professions, for example laborer to sergeant back to laborer; an extensive tech tree that is composed of 100 items of technology extracted directly from the social reality of the Three Kingdoms; a realistic battle system, and multiplayer over LAN and Internet.

Dragon Throne will be distributed by Infogrames throughout North America. European distribution is still being negotiated and will be announced at a later date.
