Digital Reality Announces New Game - Screens

by Rainier on March 14, 2002 @ 9:12 p.m. PST

Digital Reality is working on a yet unnamed tactical realtime strategy game. It is scheduled for release late 2002 and will be published by MonteCristo. We were able to obtain a few screens and once you seen those .. you will have to agree this looks like a very promising game with beautiful graphics. We WILL keep you posted!

In the game you take on the role of a platoon commander, through a series of missions set in the Vietnam war. You will gain access to new specialist and weaponry as the war situation gets more tough, and as you get more close to Vietcong bases. The player controls several squads, and will manage his specialist units, which gain experience as you progress through the cinematic storyline.

The game uses our proprietary Walker game engine, which will first make its debut in Haegemonia: Legions of Iron. The engine has been modified to fit the new game, and many options were added, like the use of motion capture and true line of sight.

More details will follow, the game's first showcase will be at the E3 in May, at MonteCristo's booth.
