by Rainier on April 5, 2002 @ 2:44 p.m. PST

Sweden based G:son International recently signed a partnership agreement with Comdex organisers Key3Media and ExpoNova to arrange Scandinavia's second game exhibition called Nordic Interactive Media Expo. The show is mainly addressed to the Nordic computer games industry and set to run between 30th of October to 1st of November 2002 at Sollentuna Exhibition Centre in Stockholm, Sweden. Alongside the trade show there will be a public exhibition called Gamex, primarily targeting the Swedish consumers.
The event will focus on interactive entertainment such as the latest video game software, developer tools, middleware, mobile technologies and hardware. NIME is not just a trade exhibition, but also an educational forum for game developers and publishers. Over 50 speakers from the most successful companies in the world will come over and give lectures about key issues during the show. To mention a few, Antoine Villette, CEO at Darkworks from France, Brian Upton, Chief Game Designer at Red Storm Entertainment from USA, Tim Rance, Technical Director at Lionhead Studios from the UK, Kirk Owen, Agent & President, Octagon Entertainment from USA and many more.

The public exhibition Gamex, running in the same venue as NIME, open 31st of October and close 3rd of November. Here you are given the opportunity to try out the latest games for PC, MAC and the latest consoles before Christmas sales kick off.

"MDTS are of course very positive to the decision making both a trade and consumer show available in Scandinavia", said chairman of MDTS, Peter Levin. (MDTS is the Swedish answer to ELSPA in the UK)

"The games are becoming more advanced and visually movie alike. To get a good grip on the world's fastest growing industry, you have to stay up to date with the best. Our lecturers in the NIME conference will lead the way to successful game development and business opportunities", continues Carl-Henrik Gustafsson, Managing Director from G:son International.

Both Gamex and NIME has signed with several market leading partners, such as Euromedia, Medstroms, MCV, MDTS, Swedish Antipiracy agency and eSportsFederation.
