The Dragon's Lair 3D Website has launched! The site is the destination for everything Dragon's Lair, including the NEW upcoming game, 'Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair' for PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC and Mac. 'Dragon's Lair 3D: Return to the Lair' is targeted to launch this fall, on the heels of the 20th Anniversary of Dragon's Lair in 2003. We scored some new screens of Dirk the Daring and some of the menacing characters, new and old, that Dirk must face to save the beautiful princess Daphne from Singe the Dragon. Fans of the classic 1980's coin-op phenomenon now have the ultimate resource for all things Dragon's Lair 3D: the newly launched www.dragonslair3d.com. This official website offers lots of great information on this legendary franchise - from the latest on the upcoming Dragon's Lair 3D : Return to the Lair videogame, action figures and strategy guide, to fascinating trivia, background and history on the arcade game. It also includes a forum for Dragon's Lair fans to exchange messages.

The site centers on the upcoming Dragon's Lair 3D videogame, which is scheduled to ship this fall simultaneously for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo GameCube , Microsoft Xbox , PC and Macintosh . This completely new, built-from-the-ground-up game will dramatically expand upon previous Dragon's Lair video, laser disc and arcade gameplay. Players will experience true 3D experience; over a dozen new characters; 43 massive areas and more than 250 new rooms to explore; new intro and ending movies created by legendary animator Don Bluth; an original music score, a new theme song; and much more.

The Dragon's Lair 3D Videogame

The Dragon's Lair 3D videogame will follow the basic storyline as that of the arcade classic: Dirk the Daring, a goofy but courageous knight, is on a mission to rescue Princess Daphne, who has been kidnapped by the evil dragon Singe and hidden in the wizard Mordroc's castle. The game will stay true to the design of the1980's arcade classic, but is seven times the size of the original, and includes several new plot twists.

In this version, players will have full control of Dirk, who must overcome challenges such as navigating through a cave of lava, swinging from burning ropes and unlocking hidden chambers in the castle to find Daphne. Singe, the Lizard King, the Giddy Goons, the Crypt Creeps and other characters familiar to players of the original arcade game have starring roles, along with over a dozen new characters created by Don Bluth that add new dimensions to the plot.
