This document contains information about Max Payne 2 Technology and tools that can be used to modify Max Payne 2.

Although we encourage you to experiment making modifications to Max Payne 2, we recommend that users should be reasonably confident on how to use their PC, or have previous experience on making modifications to other games.

Introduction

Max Payne 2 can be extended by users by creating new game environments (levels) that can contain for example new weapons, characters or sounds. Basically everything in the game is modifiable in some way.

We recommend that you read the Getting Started section. It should help you understand the basic way of how Max Payne works.

There are a few tools that can be used for making modifications:

RASMaker2 - For creating MP2M files for distributing your modifications
ParticleFX - Particle Systems Editor
KFExport - 3dsmax5 Plugins and Scripts for Max Payne 2

All of the above programs are internal tools created and used by Remedy and as such has not been tested to fulfill the requirements of commercial software. The programs are provided as is and are not supported. Use at your own risk.
