Kuju Restructuring

by Thomas on Nov. 26, 2003 @ 8:18 a.m. PST

Kuju Entertainment today announced that it is making its core business units more autonomous and defined by creating four separate divisions within the overall corporate structure. The four divisions are Action, Wireless, Racing and New Projects.

Jonathan Newth, Managing Director of Kuju plc, stated, "As Kuju continues to grow and develop, we feel it is crucial for each area of the business to stay focussed on its core technical and creative area as well as on its bottom line."

Both Action and Wireless are world-class teams responsible for recent hit games including Warhammer 40,000 : Fire Warrior, the acclaimed online FPS for PlayStation 2รค and Lotus Challenge: City Racing for Java enabled handsets.

Newth added, "Action and Wireless have proven track records and obtained great reputations, both creatively and technically, and have huge potential for growth. Racing and New Projects now have to establish a similar foothold and we expect that their current projects will do just that."

Kuju's Action division will be headed up by long serving Kuju main board director Julian Davis. The division will focus exclusively on first and third person action titles, principally for console platforms. The Action division spans Kuju's London and Godalming studios.

Kuju's Wireless division continues to be run by Kevin Holloway, Director of Wireless Publishing at Kuju.

Kuju's Racing division will be run by Jonathan Newth (Kuju's MD) for the medium term, in the longer term Kuju will appoint a dedicated general manager for Racing.

Kuju's New Projects division is based in Sheffield and is run by industry veteran Tony Kavanagh. This division has recently significantly expanded its headcount on the back of new projects.
