by Rainier on Feb. 11, 2003 @ 10:58 a.m. PST

Konami of America, Inc. announced today that Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters for the GBA has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. We'll try to get our hands on a copy asap and give it the WP treatment (not sure wether that is a good thing or not though ;)
Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters is the first videogame based on the dice game played by the characters on the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated TV series. Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters takes players through over a dozen exciting tournaments where duelists summon powerful monsters, create dungeons, set traps and use magic in order to defeat the opposing Die Master. The game features over 80 characters from the TV show and comic book. Players roll the dice to summon over 100 monsters, including the popular Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Dark Magician and Kuriboh. Players can also link up and duel head-to-head with a friend and trade dice to complete their virtual collections.

Dungeon Dice Monsters is the second Yu-Gi-Oh! title for the Nintendo Game Boy® Advance following Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul which was released in October 2002.

About Yu-Gi-Oh!

Konami has shipped a combined total of 3.1 million units of the enormously popular Yu-Gi-Oh! videogames in North America since the series' debut in March 2002. Konami has released four Yu-Gi-Oh! videogames that have each consistently ranked in the Top 3 of their respective sales charts according to industry analyst NPD TRST; Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories for Sony PlayStation®, Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories Premium Edition for Sony PlayStation®, Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories for Nintendo Game BoyÒ Color(tm) and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul for Nintendo Game Boy® Advance(tm). The games are recognized for accurately capturing the deeply strategic and challenging gameplay of the mega-popular Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise is based on the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" comic series from artist Kazuki Takahashi that first appeared in Japan in 1996. The comic spawned a hit cartoon TV show, a top-selling collectible card game, several videogames and other licensed merchandise. Yu-Gi-Oh! follows the adventures of Yugi, a young boy who possesses the "Millennium Puzzle" that allows him to transform into the "Game King" whenever he is challenged.
