by Rainier on March 27, 2003 @ 8:00 a.m. PST

Battlefield Command: Europe at War 1939 – 1945 (formerly known as WWII: RTS) has players commanding troops through some of WWII's most significant battles from its European theatre, played out in real locations constructed using topographical data and period aerial photography. The game's epic visual style is superior to any previous real-time strategy title; the outcome of the player's commands are experienced through stimulating and stunning graphical detail and effects. Set to be the most authentic and compelling tactical real time strategy game ever, Battlefield Command is now in full development at 1C in Moscow and was acquired by Codemasters last year. Codemasters will publish the title exclusively for PC in the spring of 2004.

An incredibly detailed game, it will cover some of WWII's major European battles from the invasion of Poland and France in 1939-40, through to the war on the Eastern front and the D-Day landings, to the fall of Germany in 1945.

1C's high production values will make Battlefield Command: Europe at War 1939 - 1945 a landmark tactical war game and a firm category leader when it's published by Codemasters for PC next spring.

The forums open today and the game will debut at E3, Los Angles, in May 2003.
