'Line of Sight: Vietnam' - Invading Stores

by Rainier on March 5, 2003 @ 10:09 a.m. PST

"Line of Sight: Vietnam is the next installment in Infogrames' repertoire of authentic military games with pick up and playability, coupled with an affordable price point," says Paul Rinde, Senior VP and General Manager of the Minneapolis studio. "The heart of this game, crawling through lush jungles in an immersive environment while staying one step ahead of the enemy, is sure to please military gaming enthusiasts."

Follow the story of a young sniper assigned by the U.S. Army to the 5th Special Forces compound in Kontum, Vietnam. His mission: disrupt the enemy's command structure, scout Viet Cong positions, and ambush the enemy in the dead of night. For him, success depends on a rifle, a target, and a clear Line of Sight. In Line of Sight: Vietnam, your job is to locate elusive enemy soldiers and pick them off one-by-one. Whether patiently waiting for the enemy to show himself or delivering a pre-emptive strike, the method is the same - be quick, be quiet, and be careful. That's what will get you home alive. Brought to you by nFusion Interactive, the same studio who developed the Deadly Dozen series, Vietnam: Line of Sight brings the world of the Special Operations Group to life through heart-pounding gameplay, authentic uniforms, weapons and equipment, and cautious strategy.

Key features and game scenarios include:

  • Crawl through the cover of thick vegetation in one of the most believable jungle environments in a computer game to date.
  • Select the right weapon for the job from authentic firearms such as the M-21 Sniper Rifle.
  • Use specialized low-light equipment such as the Starlight Scope in night missions.
  • Experience a full campaign of exciting missions alone, or play through them cooperatively in multiplayer games.
  • Take on friends in intense multiplayer modes like Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and "Mission Mode" where one team of players tries to stop another team from completing the mission.
  • Outwit devious AI opponents that use real-world tactics such as crawling around silently, rolling away from danger, falling back and regrouping, and using cover.
