The player can choose to fight as a member of the 101st "Screaming Eagles" Division, the 82nd Airborne or the British Red Devils. Every attempt will be made to keep "Airborne: Liberation" as historically accurate as possible while still maintaining fun game play.
"We're really excited about 'Airborne: Liberation' and look forward to combining efforts with BattleBorne to bring this history-based gameplay experience to consumers," states Jim Molitor, Vice President of Product Development for Interplay.
James Kosta, President of BattleBorne Entertainment adds, "We are very pleased to be working with Interplay. They have a great history of bringing epic stories to life and we believe that they will do the same for 'Airborne: Liberation.'"
Utilizing both individual player and squad based combat, "Airborne: Liberation" will offer the player highly detailed environments, high quality special effect visuals and sound effects, as well as authentic uniforms, weapons, vehicles and environments. Two-player coop allows a player to fight side-by-side with a friend on the same screen.
"Airborne: Liberation" is scheduled to release on the 60th anniversary of D-Day in June 2004 on current generation consoles.
