Argonaut is delighted with the deal and is particularly keen to see the release of Malice, "After some frustration were keen to get Malice into players hands. It's a great game and were very proud of it. We believe that Evolved Games and Bethesda Softworks are the right partners for these games in their respective territories and are looking forward to working with them closely," commented Argonaut's COO Joss Ellis.
The high profile Malice will be published on PS2 and Xbox in March with Powerdrome following, again on PS2 and Xbox in April.
Malice is a 3D adventure game featuring a tough, funny magic-abusing wannabe goddess called Malice! The game has been heralded for its fantastic graphics, fluid gameplay, compelling storyline and funny characterisation. An early prototype of Malice was used by Microsoft's Bill Gates to demonstrate the power of the Xbox when the console was first unveiled.
Powerdrome, developed by Argonaut's Sheffield studio, is the ultimate in hypersonic racing. Players in "Blades" compete as one of twelve would-be-heroes in the Galaxy's most prestigious and dangerous championship.
Based in Clerkenwell, London, Evolved will work closely with leading developers to bring original titles to the market and capitalise on the inflexibility of many of the larger publishers. "Our ability to move quickly and decisively enables us to create a powerful proposition for retail. We want to provide an antidote to the rather tired looking line-ups that many of the larger publishers are producing at the moment, and give gamers a chance to play some original titles created by
some of the best developers in the world," commented Sales and Marketing Director, Alex Cook.
US publisher, Bethesda Softwarks LLC will publish both titles under Zenimax'ss Mud Duck label.
