The official Ion Storm community forum has turned up rumor of a possible AI bug in Thief: Deadly Shadows. If you save and load your in-game progress it will apparently reset the difficulty setting of the game to Normal. Playing Thief 3 on high difficulty has a severe AI distinction where guards are more alert and react differently to open doors, stolen objects and other items. Ion Storm has recognized the problem and are currently working on a solution, which should be easily patchable for the PC edition, on the other hand Microsoft only allow Xbox live patching for online game experiences, which is not the case with Thief 3.
