10Tacle Studios announced today that it has acquired the majority of shares in the Belgian development studio elseWhere Entertainment and thus founds 10Tacle Studios Belgium. Yves Grolet’s team made up of 22 members became known due to their work on the PC game Outcast which made history thanks to an innovative technical approach and a completely new and exciting gameplay concept.

Following this success story Yves Grolet founded elseWhere Entertainment as a character driven game and technology development studio. Ever since the Belgians have primarily – apart from their work on several other projects – worked on the development of their own “NeoReality”-engine with its groundbreaking rendering-technology. On the basis of this new game engine which is suitable for current generations of consoles and PCs as well as for Next-Generation platforms new titles are meant to be developed which will set new standards.

“The investment in elseWhere is a big step for the future of 10TACLE STUDIOS AG. It is very important for us that thanks to our subsidiary 10TALCE STUDIOS Belgium we now have access to a high-end engine which we can use for our upcoming projects. Yves Grolet’s team has done an excellent job by developing the “NeoReality“-engine and we are proud that we can now together continue to work with this new technology“: Michele Pes, CEO of 10TACLE STUDIOS, underlines the significance of the take-over.

“The fact of entering in the 10TACLE group means for elseWhere that we will get access to the necessary ressources needed to develop state of the art next generation games“, Yves Grolet, Managing Director of elseWhere Entertainment.
