"We are thrilled with the opportunity to publish LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game for the GameCube in North America," said Bill Gardner, CEO of Eidos US Publishing. "This highly-acclaimed title lends itself perfectly to the gaming platform, as it literally combines the 'force' of two powerhouses, LEGO and Star Wars, to create an action-adventure title designed to appeal to everyone."
LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game combines two childhood favorites, LEGO and Star Wars®, to create an innovative and exciting action-adventure title designed for young gamers. The game is based on Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and the recent box-office hit Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (TM), now slated for worldwide release on DVD in time for the holiday season.
Gamers can play as more than 30 of their favorite Star Wars characters through 18 levels, and experience the complete storyline of the first three movies in the Star Wars saga in a unique LEGO way. Jedi can use "the Force" to transform LEGO objects, in a world filled with humor and surprises. Additionally, players can enjoy a two-player cooperative play mode that lets a second player drop in and out of the action without interrupting gameplay.
LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game carries an "E" rating and is available for an MSRP of $29.99 for GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC and Game Boy Advance. The PC version, with cutting-edge graphics technology developed in conjunction with NVIDIA, is compatible with Windows XP/2000 and requires a Pentium III 1 GHz or equivalent processor.
