Villages, mountain tops and even the surface of the moon become pinball tables; challenging players to hit houses, bridges and landmarks, instead of the more normal bumpers, ramps and switches. In addition, Flipper Critters also offers a number of mini arcade-style games, which players must complete in order to progress through the critter's world. Areas, missions and goals can be accessed in any order, making a game of Flipper Critters different for each player.

Designed and created specifically for the Nintendo DS handheld console, Flipper Critters offers a totally new gameplay experience which makes use of all of the DS's innovative capabilities, including the touch screen and microphone.

Zsolt Kigyossy, the managing director of Zen Studios, says, "Since we announced that Flipper Critters was in development, the response has been fantastic.
