Codemasters Looking For New Acquisitions At E3

by Rainier on April 15, 2005 @ 2:29 a.m. PDT

While Codemasters may not have a booth or lineup of titles at E3 , that does not mean it won't be present. Codemasters announced today that its Chairman and CEO David Darling has assigned a new multi-million dollar war chest, mainly due to a recently secured investment, to acquire and fund new gaming properties from development studios.

To lead the acquisitions programme, Darling has appointed Peter Zetterberg as Head of Acquisitions. With a industry career spanning 12 years, Zetterberg was previously CEO of Daydream Software, the listed Swedish games studio, and was the founder of developer UDS.

Zetterberg will lead Codemasters' acquisitions charge at E3 (May 18 - 20, LA Convention Centre, Los Angeles), meeting studios that seek publishing opportunities for current and planned projects. Codemasters is signing titles for current and next generation consoles in addition to PC and PC online projects.

"If you're developing an unsigned title or not receiving satisfaction or support from your current publishing arrangements, we want to talk to you," says Zetterberg. "Get in touch, we'll meet at E3 and discuss the international publishing and distribution that Codemasters delivers."

The strengthening of Codemasters' product acquisition programme forms part of David Darling's vision of leading on innovation, creativity and quality.

"I'm delighted to welcome Peter to Codemasters," says Darling. "We share a long working history, an entrepreneurial spirit and an ambition to champion new projects that inspire and amaze."
