Travis will contribute his voice for DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road as the pre-competition presenter and introduce players to forthcoming race events, specific stages and car characteristics. If players blaze a trail to glory, he’ll be ready to congratulate them on their performance and let them know if they’re ready to advance to tougher championships.
On August 5th, Travis won the gold medal in the rally event in the 12th summer X Games, held in Los Angeles. Ironically, in doing so, he knocked co-competitor Colin McRae into second place after McRae spectacularly rolled his car through the last jump.
“It was awesome to compete against McRae in this year’s summer X Games and even better to win the first rally event in the series,” said Travis Pastrana. “I’ve admired Colin McRae for a long time and the McRae games have an incredible reputation as the best in their field. It’s very cool to now be directly involved in the production of DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road and to be able to share my enthusiasm for rallying and off-road racing with gamers.”
Born October 8, 1983 in Annapolis, Maryland, Travis is a Moto X champion and has competed professionally in rally events since 2003’s Race of Champions. He has driven the Subaru WRX STi for the Subaru-sponsored Vermont SportsCar team and currently leads the driver standings in the Rally America National Championship. In addition to winning the 12th summer X Games rally, he received the Moto X Best Trick Gold for pulling the first-ever double back flip in the competition, and won the Moto X Freestyle event.
DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road is coming in 2007 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
